Are you- are you trolling? Pavarotti (not Pavoratti, lolwut) is well-known, even by people who don't know about opera. Hell, ask anyone to name an opera singer and he's likely the first name they'll think of.

My parents don't know who Pavoratti is (sorry for accidentally switching around the placement of two vowels) and they can't name any operas by name. Most people I know wouldn't know who Pavoratti is either. So no, I'm not trolling.
