THIS. Why are people having such a hard time grasping this concept? Kid Loki was Loki without that much history, current Loki is Kid Loki+History. That means there is a good potential in him.

Except that the person we know as Kid Loki, according to Word of God, was literally erased from existence. What's in Kid Loki's body is old Loki/Ikol.

Loki was Kid Loki at some point in his life.

As in, they have the same personality and memories up to that certain age.

He didn't experience the things the same as Kid Loki did since he was reincarnated. He has more baggage than Kid Loki did.

But he used to be Kid Loki in the past.

Gillen also said that we wouldn't get the same exact Old!Loki. His self-awareness moment in Siege and his desire to change could be (and has been) a good point for him to step away from the cackling villain thing.
