WTF? How did you jump to the idea that people are writing fics about how this guy's dad abuses him?

Is that a thing that happens regularly, or something? "Oh, Person A lost his father! I shall write a fic about said father beating him up!"

No, sorry, I didn't mean them to be connected at all. Guess I didn't phrase that very well. I've just seen a fair amount of RPF where for plot purposes, Person A is abused by his family, and I'd find that a lot worse than writing inspired by the family member's actual death. (If someone close to me died and people wrote stories about it, I would be distressed and kind of creeped out. If people wrote stories about me being abused by someone close to me so I could be rescued by my hot co-star/bandmate, I would be really pissed off.)
