I'm the same way, anon. I'm attracted to both actual real people and drawn/written characters, but live action characters or celebrities? Nope. I'm not sure why, but I don't think it's that huge a deal.

You're not alone. I have a friend who can't read porn in live-action fandoms and isn't all that comfortable with regular fic. He admits the actors might not even mind, and certainly won't know, but it bugs him.

I decided not to tell him when I started writing RPF. I think that was a good choice.

I don't think it's crazy - you've analyzed it and your reasons make sense.

I'm similar - I'm not interested in smutworks for anything that I've seen dramatized, and I knew a few other fen who have the same preference. I'm not sure why that is either, but if I'm going to read smut (or more likely write it) I just prefer 2D characters. Maybe it's something about them being more archetypal?

(Not that I haven't fantasized about celebs now and again when I'm off in my bunk, but there I'm not reading someone else's plot, I'm writing my own.)

I prefer art and 3D computer-generated model porn to real people for fapping material.

Although that might because the fetish I'm into can be dangerous if done with real people, so I avoid real photographs when possible because I'm always worried "shit, what if this is legit snuff? BACK BUTTON!"

I get it in the sense that I'm in live-action fandoms, but I always sort of imagine the characters as animated characters instead when reading fic. That's just the way my mind works.
