I don't think it's crazy - you've analyzed it and your reasons make sense.

I'm similar - I'm not interested in smutworks for anything that I've seen dramatized, and I knew a few other fen who have the same preference. I'm not sure why that is either, but if I'm going to read smut (or more likely write it) I just prefer 2D characters. Maybe it's something about them being more archetypal?

(Not that I haven't fantasized about celebs now and again when I'm off in my bunk, but there I'm not reading someone else's plot, I'm writing my own.)
