Is it like that? I'm only vaguely familiar with it from a few other secrets here and discussion in other fandom spaces.

I only tease Hetalia out of love, though, ftr. I'm actually a fan.

Yeah, it is that bad, sadly - and she's said some pretty nasty things outside the comic that proves the mean streak [and some of the biases, at least from what I've seen.]

Hetalia admits when it's not based on real stuff. Humon presents her stuff as hard fact while also admitting she knows jack shit about the world outside Scandinavia. It's also pretty disgustingly discriminatory.

Yeah this. Hetalia is no paragon of accuracy at all, but damn if it isn't huge steps up from SatW.
