I'd recommend using that strip as more of a starting point to get interested in history, rather than completely unbiased fact.

That said, the wank about the strip is stupid to me. It's funny. Yeah, it's based primarily on stereotypes but when I read it, it came across as meant to poke fun at those stereotypes and not at all a comment that ALL people from X nation act and behave a certain way. And maybe it makes be an ignorant, offensive jackass, but I don't mind poking fun at stereotypes.
