Re: Fictional deaths/distresses

I'm right now obsessing over the deaths of McWatt and Kid Sampson from "Catch-22". NOTHING in fiction has upset me like this ever since Sirius Black's death (yeah, it's weird and I'm now pretty indifferent to the poor guy). It was just so gruesome and so fitting in the plot. And nobody was to blame. Well, McWatt was to blame, but it was an accident, after all, and it doesn't make me feel better about his fate. He was such a cool character, and such a great person, and an IreScott, and, and... *sobs*.

Plus I feel very bad for almost every single character of "Murder Rooms" (apart from Cream and a couple of other obvious antagonists).

I think I need to reread Catch-22, because I'm pretty sure I didn't connect to it properly the first time around. I don't remember any of the characters, hardly any of the action, and I don't remember being very affected by anything in it :( That's not the typical me when it comes to books.
