Re: Fictional deaths/distresses
Wash, of course Wash.
Most recently there was a death in Assassin's Creed 3 that I found hard to take. It was just so brilliantly written and SAD. (And no, it's not the one way later in the game. Don't want to spoil people who haven't played it.)
Dom's death in Gears of War 3 was rough. I actually LOVE the scene itself and how it's dealt with, but man did I bawl my eyes out.
Thane and Mordin's from Mass Effect were equally touching too. Why BioWare, why?
Worst death ever for me is probably The Boss from Metal Gear Solid 3. Damn that game for making me cry through the credits.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-03 07:18 am (UTC)(link)As for Kotor I'm a huge fan of the Exile. I read about her ending as well and I understand your pain.
Re: Fictional deaths/distresses
Oh man, the Exile... I should've mentioned them, too. Despite being a long time fan of KOTOR I only got around to playing KOTOR2 this year, so I guess it slipped my mind. But both Revan and the Exile are awesome and obviously connected and have awfully depressing endings and yea, I like to believe they kicked ass, took names, and then lived happily ever after with their love interests.
