Ummm, SoKai... I don't actually know KH or its fandom very well, but I'm pretty certain it's not canon as in they haven't kissed/made any declarations to each other's faces yet? XD I don't know, maybe I'm wrong about SoKai as well as having missed the whole last paragraph of the person's secret.

Not every pairing needs kissing/dating to be canon. It depends on the canon itself.

Mmmm, now we're getting into the semantics of canon. Me, I don't think a pairing is canon unless the parties involved are actually in a mutual romantic relationship. So I guess we just have differing views on when a ship is canon, then.

And as I said, though, my knowledge of KH is limited to talking with some friends, reading some comms and Wikipedia info, and some fics recced to me.

Er sorry, I have to firmly disagree. It really depends on the canon. Relationships vary and often canon plays with how complicated they are.

Sometimes romantic feelings are heavily implied and their relationship doesn't play out in a direct way. That doesn't make it less canon.

Yeahh, Sora/Kairi isn't canon. There's a crush thing seeming to go on in KH, but in KH2 all their moments together were no stronger than the moments Sora had with Riku, they all showed only a strong friendship. *shrugshrug*

There are rabid Heero/Relena fans? Huh. When I was in GW fandom all I saw was "ZOMG RELENA IS TEH EV0L AND SHE MUST DIE RAR."

XDDDD Hoooyeah, there was definitely that, too. But there were/are some rabid 1xR yaoi-hatin' fangirls out there. You saw a lot more of the 1x2 Relena-bashing YAOI 4EVER types, but the rabids were there on every side.
