3. I really hate yaoi fangirls. Partly because they'll read anything as long as it has two guys having sex, but also because so many of them are so hateful and irritating about anything OTHER than those two guys having sex.

6. No, sry. :( You might be flattered that someone used your work that way, but other people might not feel the same way. Your feelings =/= everyone else's feelings. I know quite a few fan artists who have been upset by people doing things with their artwork.

24. I-I love you? I despise Zutara shippers who continue to tell me it is SO GOING TO BE CANON LOL. Ship what you want, because fanon is awesome too, but at least recognize the difference :| I wish more shippers were like you.

3. I doubt your pinning this on all people who like yaoi, but that's not entirely true. I read boyxboy because I find it more interesting than reading the same old same old with boyxgirl. Not to mention there's a lot more drama and it's harder to get in a relationship in the first place.

I like het as well, and the assumption that all 'yaoi fangirls' just like any two guys having sex is kind of hurtful. I assume you like het considering you're icon, and I doubt you'll read any het pairing out there that has people having sex.

Sometimes I think people take negative factors from many people who like something (aka yaoi) and group them together into the image of anyone who likes yaoi and happens to be a girl...I'm an individual! Just because I like something that some idiots, like in any popular thing, enjoy as well doesn't mean I'm one of them.

Ugh, I obviously am not paying attention to what I'm typing today.

I meant, "I doubt you'll read any het pairing out there just because it has two people having sex"

When I use the term 'yaoi fangirl', it's usually extreme. As in, those who are rabid and hateful and basically make you ashamed of liking it yourself. I myself enjoy yaoi, so sorry if that seemed to vauge ;P

*too.

Lawl sleep deprivation, ILU2.

Ohhhh...now I get what you mean, it's kind of sad, but in every group of fans there's always the crazy(not to mention embarrasing) ones.

IAt first I thought you were saying it as in 'I only like het and yaoi is icky' or something, so I'm sorry too xD

[identity profile] elystia.livejournal.com 2007-08-21 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's true. And I think because there are just sooo many yaoi fans out there, the number of rabid ones is also way too large for its own good. ;~;

I actually used to think that, but then my friend converted me a few years ago and now I love it XD But no hard feelings at all~ In fact, have a ghei YGO icon as a peace offering! ♥ ♥

Haha, yeah, exactly. I'm a yaoi and het lover myself, but for me, if the characters are unbelievable, I chuck it. I mean, I'm all for some oneshot porno but at least make me feel something for the characters. You've got less than 60 pages, go mangakas go!

I've read some stories where character reactions are so unrealistic it's laughable (and not in the good way). You just got raped? Well of course it's time to fall in love with that guy! All those "No, stop it!"'s were really "oh mah gaaaah moarrrrr"'s in disguise. And what's that? You're a prepubescent kid and you like your teacher? Well by all means go and confess your undying love to them- in one page flat they'll suddenly see the light and go have sex with you in that unused science room on the 3rd floor! And they'll do it without even thinking about the repercussions it will have on their free life as they know it! You were just too cute when you begged for it.

BARFFFFF.

That's my bias showing through. :C I know that not everybody would get such an euphoric rush from seeing their art on some random guy's journal, but I'm unable to beat it out of my head. Thus why I made the secret. Not trying to be [too] preachy (I was trying to make some sort of statement after all, so I'm not exempt) but the main point was to confess that I'm totally prejudiced against people who are anti-fanart-icons.

If someone states why they don't like it, then I don't usually have a problem. Otherwise you get the snap judgement. It' wrong but I can't stop doing it. D:

Nah, I can see that. It's good to see both sides of the argument. But when I see people who are anti-fanart icons I usually sympathize with the fan artists, since I've seen some who have been very hurt/upset over it. So I have a bit if a bias as well~
