OP, what you have to understand is that the extremists have hijacked fandom. The vast, vast majority of people the SJWs claim to be fighting for want them to shut the fuck up and back the fuck off, because they do nothing but alienate everyone else who wasn't already part of their extremism. Yeah, they can be nasty. Yeah, they're worse than a bus full of /b/tards, but they're ultimately doing nothing but harming their own cause.

Most people won't care what you are as long as you're not being a direct asshole to them. Rational people, people who aren't, you know, discriminatory, will base their perception of you on your actions, not your identity. Unfortunately, SJWs aren't rational, they're a mob of obnoxious extremists. But they are also irrelevant. It's hard, but ignoring them is the best thing to do, unless they threaten your personal safety. Then you report them and get their asses arrested.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. They seem to be creeping into celebrity fandoms, and even online games and other media.
