... how is it not immersive? I don't understand this. When I'm playing a game, I'm invested in that character and their particular story. It doesn't matter to me whether they're female or male if their story is interesting.

some of us are sick of being marginalized in a culture that likes to pretend it's a home for misfits when it's really just another playground for white, straight men.

But the character isn't you or me. The character is that specific character. Would it be nice to see more female lead characters? Sure, I'd like that too. But I don't see how that somehow makes a game more immersive in any way.

Either the writing is good and you can relate to the character or it isn't.

Because I'm tired of only having three or four options options, and most of those are male with the Token Female. I want to feel like I'm actually included and not an afterthought, and when I complain, pointed to a fucking Barbie game.

Because it's borign and insulting. It's like expecting me to only ever read books on 30 year old guys with brown hair.

It's boring! Different situations maybe, but the same main character over and over and over. There's a few that stand out, but most games turn into a blurr of same guy same guy same guy.

Sometimes I like to read about teenagers or older characters and I definately like to read from a female POV sometimes! This applies to games too. If only for the sheer novelty factor, but also because it's nice to have a girl to identify every now and then.

tl;dr I can't tell the difference between the Assassins Creed guys. lol.
