Yeah, that was the other thing I was forgetting. Yes, all of us straight people want to be praised for helping defenseless gays/queer people. Because, we ALL see you as OH SO HELPLESS *gags*

Um, no. How about we just want to help people. Cause it's the right thing to do. But, apparently we can only help ourselves, cause it's some how demeaning otherwise. IDGI.

I see it as a ploy by homophobic groups to cause discontent, and infighting within the cause. Anger is one hell of a drug, and by using anger to lash out at anyone, and everyone, no matter who they are, will just alienate us further from becoming equal.

I hope I'm wrong, but sometimes I worry...

Here's the thing, some allies do act like that. Some act like they are the saviors the the LGBT rights movement and are offended by not being treated as such. While hating all allies is wrong I don't think it is good not call out and question problematic behavior from allies.

That's the thing, it's fine to call out any and all bad behavior, by anyone. However it's the joy that some seem to take, in turning on all our allies, that has me worried.

Anger is like a drug, and if left unchecked it can do plenty of unintended damage.

Did I say that? No, I didn't. I know some do. But the universal hate I'm seeing for even those who aren't like that is getting annoying and makes many of us not even try.

it seems like everything we've worked for, is slipping away. The selfish anger of the fringe has bled to the whole, and infecting the movement with bile and hate.

I'm all for you being an ally, but at this point I also want you to sit down and shut up. So some douchebag insulted you. Big whoop, it happens to everyone involved in lgbt. Especially the actual lgbt.

Maybe it's the way you phrase yourself and turn it into an issue about you.

Or maybe, you can get the stick out of your ass and not be a jerk when someone helps you. Sorry, but most of us aren't there looking for cookies or ally points. We genuinely want to help others because we hate, regardless of orientation, gender, what the fuck ever, seeing others hurt.

That's something that upsets me. Seeing others hurt.I don't know why, but I've always been that way.

But to be shunned for doing that? Fine, then me and others will just walk by. No matter how shitty things get.

When we have pushed away the last of those who want to help us, who help protect us, who love us.

Then we will finally know that we can no do this alone, and we will be alone, with our bitterness, and our anger.

We will have become the very thing we fought so hard against, only to have it consume us whole.

Man, you are obnoxious as fuck. I'm a lesbian, and you know what, we need allies to get shit done. As far as I'm concerned, people who go out of their way to help with the LGBT movement do deserve my praise. Maybe not for just voting for LGBT rights, but seriously. You are such a shit, I can't.

I love that allies exist, and want to help us overcome oppression. I really do. I don't love so much when every time they stand up for us, they come and tell me about it if I wasn't there. Or even better, write a letter to the newspaper about it. "I met Senator Obama today, and I said to him, 'I have a gay child! When you become President, will you make it so they can get married?'" Thank you for saying that to him, and I know your kid is glad you want them to be able to get married, but there really isn't any need to come tell me about it like you're expecting a belly rub and a Scooby snack.
