A:tLA with subtitle

(Anonymous) 2012-12-11 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
I've wanted to watch Avatar:TLA for years, but I've failed out three times because most of the main characters' voice acting just really grates on me.

But I just had an idea that might work. So, f_s, if I find a version that's been dubbed into, say, Japanese, and watch the dubbed version with English subtitles, does that make me a bad person somehow?

And if it doesn't, is there a non-English dub that you particularly like the voice acting in?

Why on Earth would it make you a bad person? O_O

Anyway, I really liked the Latinoamerican Spanish dub.

How would that make you a bad person?

Seconding the latinamerican dub. It's pretty spot-on.

I dunno, "I watched it in a foreign language with subtitles" when it's a show in my native language just sounds really, really weeaboo. Maybe I'm still scarred by how and when I got into anime fandom.

But ooh, the latin american dub is good? I might even be able to follow some of it, and I could pretend I was just practicing my Spanish...

Exactly! Great excuse there - use it!
