She's such an asshole. She hired an unqualified person for an open position simply because they were BFFs once upon a time, she's been spying on the other employees in order to catch us messing up, and she's been landing us with new policies at the drop of a hat that she doesn't even fucking follow herself, yet we'll be punished with loss of bonuses and pay cuts if we step out of line.

And of course when anyone brings up any complaints against her, they're either ignored or she blames someone else because she only wants responsibility for shit when things are good or she's aching for control. It's not much use going over her head to the owner because their family, and it's all fucked up. Ugh, I'm so glad that I'm leaving that hellhole, but now I have to walk on eggshells around her for the next couple of weeks in order to make sure that I'm not penalized for doing god knows what wrong in her eyes, which is not going to help my anxiety in the slightest. I want to print out a picture of her face and throw darts at it.

Sorry for the pointless comment. I just need to vent, and this is pretty much the only place I have to do it.

Thanks. I'm just so frustrated with this whole thing and how she's been treating everyone, and I really have no patience to deal with this kind of shit right now with finals piling up and the holidays to contend with right around the corner. I really just want to curl up in a ball and sleep for the next hundred years in the hope that I'll never have to see her again.

if this is the way you roll: take comfort in the fact that the place will go downhill if the boss doesn't fire her, and no amount of denial will change that; she'll lose all the good employers, one by one (she already lost you, after all), and all thanks to her nepotism

if you don't roll that way: well, at least you are leaving! hang in there, anon; you can do it, and, who knows, maybe you can use this as a lesson to learn to spot signs of "eh, this boss might not work out so well" in any new job you get, so that you keep an eye open for other opportunities

Thanks, anon. Both things are helpful, actually. She's losing me now and is going to lose two more people once they get other jobs lined up. A third may follow. Since the place is a small business (there are six regular employees), I don't know what she plans on doing when everyone's gone. Unless, of course, a purge was her plan in the beginning.

I had a friend in high school that printed out a guy's face and put it on her dart board at home. They were both athletes and he was a prick. She said it was very therapeutic. I never saw her have problems with him after she started doing that either.
