They're kind of a doomed romance aren't they? Tauriel is and elf, and though dwarves live a long time, they're not immortal.
Are is Tauriel going to pull a Legolas and sail off into the West with Kili?

I'm just glad she's not Legolas's girlfriend; which is what I first thought.

I'm know the book ending, if you know what I mean. I just thought considering this new development, they might change it.

See, I'm having a little trouble imagining that. I've read the Hobbit, but not Lord of the Rings, so I can't say how much Jackson changed/re-imagined LotR, and whether or not it'll show up again in the Hobbit.

I figured changing major things like *SPOILERS* character death *SPOILERS* was a major no-no, though.

They killed off Haldir in The Two Towers, which didn't happen in the book. The elves of Lothlorien were too busy defending their own people to march over to Helm's Deep. That's actually the change I was the most bothered about, elves at Helm's Deep and random Haldir death.

I like Jackson, but if that happens...I'ma flip my shit. Or more likely...be disgruntled and extremely disappointed, go home and write scathing emails to Peter Jackson then never post them.
