It will forever baffle me that Phoenix just took the page Trucy handed to him with the words "Some guy wanted me to give you this" and then used it as evidence. He's not that stupid! And Klavier just trusted his brother, who should have had nothing to do with that case when he shows up all like "Oh, that defense attorney you'll go up against tomorrow? He'll use fake evidence. Go get him."
Sometimes, I want to write fix-it fanfiction...no subject
So yeah, we have very similar feelings.
The thing is, with a little tweaking they could have had the exact same storyline without getting Phoenix disbarred and having a different personality.
no subject
We do! I'm always happy to find people who agree with me.
Phoenix gets the page, but doesn't present it, because he doesn't know where it came from... but as he loses the case, Gramarye still takes off and leaves Phoenix with Trucy, only now he has an actual job. Klavier is utterly confused, because there was supposed to be face evidence and upon hearing that, Phoenix starts wondering who tried to set him up... wow, look! Apollo Justice - Ace Attorney without bitter!hobo!Phoenix.

Then Kristoph can still kill Gramerye because the guy knows too much. I mean, after the case all the evidence had to be locked away. Even if Phoenix never used it, the page is still there. You could even have a thing where that bit of evidence was stolen from the police files by Kristoph and Klavier thinks Phoenix did it.
And Ema Skye did pass her test. She is now using her knowledge in her job as a detective. The reason she was put in that position instead of straight forensic specialist is because she was good at other parts of the job too so they wanted her to try being a detective first. She's getting field experience right now.
Boom, fixed everything.

And yes, of course he would steal the face diary page (not knowing that there is a copy of it in the judge's office, on Phoenix's request), it's the number one damning evidence against him!
Yes! That fits her so much better, being a forensic specialized detective rather than a bitter detective who failed the forensic exam despite it practically being her life even at a young age (seriously...).
Yep. In a few lj comments, we've fixed everything that was wrong with the plot of Apollo Justice. Seriously, I actually find this plot not only more in-character for Phoenix, but also better/more interesting.

I think the only other thing I could complain about was that one moment when you have to use evidence you got in the future in the past.
no subject
Still this urge to write this as fic...... I honestly think my mind has chosen to block that out, because I don't even remember that.
no subject
Do iiiiiiiiiiittt.Ahaha! Lucky you! It was in the last case. I couldn't remember what piece of evidence it was so I looked it up on TV Tropes.
They said, "In the last case of Apollo Justice, when you have the ability to look in both the past and the present to see the evidence that Phoenix has collected, Phoenix presents evidence that he can't possibly have at the time he presents it, and draws conclusions based on knowledge he will have in the future. For example, the picture of Trucy's mother that you get from Valant Grammarye? You use it to break Zak's Psyche lock SIX MONTHS EARILER! I should probably stress that you get the picture after Zak DIES! And then there's the whole thing with Vera. How does "seven years ago" Phoenix have any clue that the bottle on the desk could possibly be Vera's good luck charm? If it was in the present, I would be fine with it, but our Phoenix hasn't seen that bottle before in his life. Also, why does "seven years ago" Phoenix know to suggest Kristoph as Vera's secret client? He has no reason to suspect Kristoph at that time, not until the events seven years later, when he sees that bottle of nail polish in Kristoph's cell? It boggles the mind!"
So... yeah... That's a problem.
no subject
But I don't wanna do it aloooone! I'd want someone to discuss with, because the first case would need to be pretty much completely redone considering the fact that lawyer!Phoenix would have no reason to be in the Borscht Bowl Club and everything...Oh... Oh that's right. Oh god that's terrible.
The more you actually think about what went on in Apollo Justice, the more it seems like the writers... kinda didn't really care to put any effort into it.
no subject
I would be willing to help but I don't know how consistent I will be considering I'm really busy right now. We can try but I can't guarantee I'll always be available. I'm sorry. D: But if you're okay with that...Yup, it's pretty bad.
Eh, it's only the last case that really has problems. But really, I think it has to do with two things:
1) The head writer or whatever really didn't want to write anything with Phoenix anymore but was forced to.
2) The entire story was written as pro-jury propaganda because Japan at the time was switching from a non-jury system to a jury system. The people of Japan during that time were very wary about the new system's implementation. So the government was doing a whole PR thing to improve opinions. This helped.
no subject
Well, I'm rather busy right now as well, so it wouldn't be an immediate project anyway. So I would be okay with that... XDWell, true, but that's because the last case is tying the entire game's plot together.
1) I can understand that being annoying, but still... :/
2) Oh yeah, I see. Well, still wish it'd been better done than it was. Le sigh.
