Notes:
- A request to commenters, some secrets may indeed have more details than others, but please excersise respect instead of commenting with 'tl;dr'! Don't have the attention span to read it? Don't read it. ♥ At the same time, secret-makers, try and see if your secrets can be summed up in fewer words, due to this same reason. That's all!
- Obviously I must never be allowed to count on my 5am self to post and queue secret posts. :3;

12. I don't think there's really any excuse for this -- with coupons and discount websites, you can get manga for $4-$8 consistantly (for normally-priced volumes). As for anime, if you have access to a credit card and check a good discount-reporting website, nearly everything goes down to, like, $10 per disc. And then there are rental services and libraries. I'm not saying that you should buy everything that have ever even vaugely caught your eye ever, but if you pay attention, paying for anime isn't all that crazy.
And, of course, if anime in English had higher sales, you can bet it would get cheaper (just look at how much more pricey things used to be).
Of course, this does depend quite a bit on your location, so if you happen to be in some country that never releases anime domestically, feel free to hit me or something.
17. I'm not in the fandom, but I always figured that people liked this pairing because it was so messed up. As long as they're enjoying the dynamic for what it is, I don't see a problem.

(Anonymous) 2007-08-23 06:05 am (UTC)(link)even if everyone in the foreign markets stopped buying anime and manga, it wouldn't stop the stuff from being made. you gotta remember that it all starts in Japan and there is a VERY big market there for it already and THAT IS WHO IT IS BEING MADE FOR. just because you don't buy manga licensed in your home country is not going to put mangakas or animation studios out of job. i mean come on let's just be realistic here.
Re: op here
(Anonymous) 2007-08-23 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)With the way they are cracking down on online piracy, not something I wish to involve myself with any more than possible.
On the other hand, I won't crank out money for something to own good DVD quality stuff until I've checked it out first, ala fansubs/fantranslations for free.
Re: op here
BTW regarding the secret I'll buy it if I love it liek woah. :P Heh. Otherwise, bye files. o_o;
