I came here to point out that detail too.

I'm not happy with the direction they are taking her. But she as a character have always wanted to fit in and be one of the girls, she was never into comic books or science fiction.

Penny takes an interest once in a while though, and she is a pretty good gamer.

I am so tired of that still being an okay stereotype. I remember being really jarred when a random episode of How I Met Your Mother did a "girls don't like science fiction" joke. I mean it's 2012, there's a lot of press with female fans (not that there WEREN'T BEFORE) so it's not a new thing.

Yeah, I was trying to get two related gripes into one secret, I never thought Amy was into sci-fi.
