In the comics, the artists keep on finding ways to put him in ridiculous poses that show off his kiester as well as his abs and legs. (But especially his kiester.) Not that I am complaining.







With Gambit, it's all about making him shirtless. In fact, the latest series with him starring starts off with him taking a shower. (The writers know their audience.)

So basicly you don't want to stop the exploiting of the female body in comics, you just want the same done with the male body? And hey, I'm not complaining either, I'm just getting miffed when people complain about it done with one gender and if they then salivate if it's done with the other gender. If you want it for both, I'm fully on board with that, eye candy for everyone. I just wish there was more naked male flesh to see.

Level the playing ground. Comics are all about fantasy. If people want to read them because they want eyecandy of both genders, I say, why not?

I can't think of many women or men who feel like there shouldn't be ANY sexy characters wearing sexy clothes in comic books. A lot of people don't mind when characters like Psylocke or Black Widow dress the way they do because it's not only part of their character, but part of their appeal.

People DO mind when characters like Rogue or Captain Marvel (I'm having trouble thinking of non-hypersexualized DC characters) are dressed that way because they're not characters that would choose to dress in a revealing, sexy way on a day-to-day or combat basis. I don't hold it against them that sometimes they might...but usually they don't.

People would like to see a scaling back of sexy women, and some others would also like to see an increase of male ones to match.

There's no hypocrisy, there's just a desire for equality.

Oh, Dick and Remy. My two favorite comic book characters.

Is there a new Gambit series? I haven't followed Marvel in ages, so I must have missed this. If there is, I'm excited! Is it any good?

It came out within the last few months. It's okay. More cloak and dagger than anything else. But plenty of Gambit eyecandy. I actually laughed at the amount of sexy poses he was put it.

Gambit has his own series now and one of the first panels was a lot of naked skin. I did not feel like I'd wasted my 2.99 on that!

Yeah, those Nightwing pics really show why the series is considered to be drawn with the female gaze. Even better, he has a pretty awesome personality to go with the hotness, IMO, which is why he's turned out to be one of my favourite characters in the DCU.
