Mainstream erotica can be very explicit. There are actually a LOT of imprints that are now publishing erotica specifically, and not just bodice-ripping romance novels. Check out Kensington Publishing Corp.'s Brava and Aphrodisia lines, Berkeley Publisher's Heat line, and even Harlequin's Spice line, which is much...well, spicier than their other romance imprints. If you're looking for gay/lesbian or gender variant erotica, Bold Strokes Books is a small publishing company that exclusively sells LGBT romance and erotica. There are a bunch of others--after 50 Shades blew up, every publishing company is getting their own erotica imprint out there--but these are only the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
