Hm, I can say that Glee, TVD and OUAT can be like that, too, though, from what I've seen in the blogs of my friends who are in those fandoms. In fact, that can apply to pretty much any fandom. It also depends on your experience. I have had a really awesome experience in SPN fandom, and have met some of the sweetest, mellowest people possible, who are now among my best friends, even if we're all stepping out of SPN. So. Yeah. It depends. *shrug*

OuaT is the only fandom I even lurk in right now - elsewhere, I just read fic - but yeak, it's pretty wanky. Lots of polarizing characters - Regina, Rumpelstiltskin, and Henry just for starters - and if you so much as mention one of them in a discussion, it degenerates into a debate on that character.

Really? Shame, just got into the programme but I think I'll stay out of fandom, like I do for most of my shows *sigh*
