Med student who knows other med students and doctors in fandom, that good enough for you? Lives in our hands and all that? I also know an architect, a lawyer, a few people with MS degrees, and others who are young but have pretty long term academic goals. Your fandom circle might just need some widening. Get a coffee mug for your show, it'll invite conversation and you'll find others like you. You're not alone, so quit pretending.

Yep, my sister-in-law is working on a psychology major and she plans to go to med school after this, and she's one of the geekiest people I know. She gets it from her dad, who also went to med school and worked as a psychologist.

You must mean psychiatrist... You don't need an MD to be a psychologist. Just a PhD/PsyD + licencing. So if he ended up being a psychologist, med school was a massive waste of time and money lol

That might be it. :|a My sister-in-law herself is actually going to med school for something else, she's just taking Psychology because that's what interests her and she thinks her bachelors doesn't matter as much as long as she has it. I'm not sure about her Dad, her whole family is full of doctors and I got the impression her Dad did more than just the psychology stuff.

(Obviously, that's not my field of interest, I'm an English major.)

Medicine is fucking weird though. People my age are likely to be tech geeks, book geeks, game geeks who love the internet and fandoms; but the people who are above us, the doctors of another gen, are so anti-technology the frown down at anyone who uses Facebook.
