I like getting hit on by men because if they're rude or creepy about it, I know they aren't a good person and I will be as mean as possible when I turn them down. If they're polite, I tell them I have a boyfriend so they won't feel bad.

Getting hit on by creepy men sometimes makes me feel really good even though I usually turn them down

If they seem entitled or rude or are waaaay older than me (like over 50), I act like I can't even understand why they're hitting on me. Like, they couldn't REALLY think I'd be interested.

For the really rude ones, I look at them like they're something nasty-smelling under my nose and just tell them no, without offering any reasons.

It probably makes me kind of a jerk, but so are most of these guys so I don't exactly care.

If they're rude to you first I hardly think that makes you a jerk. Men don't have the right to treat women like a piece of meat or be a complete asshole just because.

I get complimented by guys a lot, but it's always done in a very polite way, so I don't mind it.

I wish more girls complimented me though. I'm bisexual and the lack of female attention I get makes me sad sometimes. I really like being complimented by guys, don't get me wrong, but I wish I got some girl-love from time to time.

Women and men always flirt with my bf/best friend (it's an open relationship), and I get kind of jelly that he gets loved by both genders.

I honestly, honestly think gay/bi men are generally more open about their orientation than women.

At least in my experience. Online I see a lot of non-straight women, but irl I've pretty much never seen a woman getting her flirt on with another chick, or walking around holding hands with her gf, etc. but I've seen it with guys.

That's just my experience tho, and it would be my guess, but idk how true that is.

In my experience, people are a lot more likely to brush queer women off as just being "friendly" or "joking" or if they see you holding hands, unless you are kissing, they assume you are related. (My ex-gf and I? I lost track of the number of people who assumed that either she was my mother, or that we were sisters. And still did not get it when gently corrected, and then just thought Really Close Friends.)

I wear skirts and "girly" clothes a lot and get read as straight even when I am being flirty and checking out other women and such. I have literally had people, when I mentioned "ex-girlfriend", were all "but you don't look like a lesbian!"

I've heard people mention this happening a lot and it is really one of the stupidest things.

Anon, one of my friends figured out that I'm a lesbian because I give out compliments really easily. Women just... don't compliment other women a lot of times. It's kind of how guys don't compliment guys, but I don't think the reasons are the same. I actually have no idea what the reasons are, but in my experience, women just aren't as free with the compliments with other women.

That and lesbian-dar is kind of really hard.

Wow, I really have not had that experience. I, and other women I know who are straight, compliment other women all the time - not in a flirty way, but just "You look so cute today!" "I love that dress!" "I think you are a really sweet person!" I've never thought that kind of behavior implied sexual attraction.

What is lesbian-dar?
