I also don't know about your metric for what it takes to be a responsible adult. Your job sounds prestigious, which requires one sort of responsibility. A Walmart employee might be trying to support themselves on minimum wage, or balance family responsibilities while working multiple part-time jobs. That's a different type of responsibility.
It's also very possible that you're at least a little older than a lot of these people who are worried they won't make it as adults. Time and experience teaches you what you're capable of and, a lot of times, increases what you're capable of. Some of those people, in the next few years, will very likely become more confident in themselves.
Finally, while I think landing a powerful or prestigious job generally requires being driven and confident, it isn't the same thing as being a well-rounded, mature adult. Some powerful and successful people have messy personal lives, and some people who have more mundane jobs exude confidence and maturity in their personal lives, and achieve quite a bit on their own time (whether through volunteering, writing/creating art, taking care of their families, or what have you).
