You mean you think that some cosplayers are only doing it for the attention and not the nerdy thrill of being a character? Probably. But there are plenty of geeky thin cosplayers so I wouldn't go around accusing someone of being non-nerdy simply because they look hot in their costume. You of all people should understand how much people deserve to be known before judged.

There's also the fact that wanting attention while doing cosplay isn't necessarily that unusual or a bad thing. I highly doubt that most people doing cosplay don't want some form of attention, considering all the time and effort they put into their outfits.

Well, true, but I think the idea here is that attention is the sole reason for cosplay, rather than the enjoyment of making costumes or whatever. I don't know. It seems to me that a person would have to be at least a little geeky to go into cosplay at all. There are a lot easier ways for a good looking woman to dress for attention.

I used to be friends with a ton of cosplayers and pretty much all of them liked the attention. Doesn't make them any less nerdy than anyone else. They just want people to acknowledge the huge amounts of effort and time they put into their costumes.
