No, no, I agree.

I think the lesson they were shooing for was: "Your friends' religion beliefs are important to them, so even if you can't explain them or you disagree, it is best to respect them for the sake of the friendship (as long as they're not actually hurting someone)."

But then they missed the mark epically because they were tip-toing around the "religion" part of it and tried to disguise under Pinkie Pie's randomness, which could work if this wasn't a setting where MAGIC IS FUCKING REAL.
