Way to be a douche OP. So I'm not fat, I still want to go to cons and be silly and geeky.

But I can't win, can I? On either side I'm going to have men and women accusing me of being a fake geek. They'll throw random questions at me about random issues I haven't read yet, then will insult me because I don't know the answers! They'll assume I'm there fore the guys, the girls, the attention. No-one ever thinks that maybe I'm there because I really liked something and I wanted to see other people enjoying it and buy some merchandise and just enjoy the atmosphere. No, you have to be a horrible douche and judge me.

Why can't you just leave me alone? I just want to go to a con and enjoy it, same as you! YES, if I go with friends I'm going to dress up because it's fun!

What's not fun is being told I'm fake and should GTFO because you're chasing me over the con and asking questions and acting like it's a victory if I don't know the answer. You're just a bully, like everyone else who's told me off for liking something unconventional while being acceptable physically.

I read the comic/watched a show/tv-series/read a book and I enjoyed it! That's why I'm spending a ridiculous amount of money, so I can enjoy it a little more! Not for your praise! Your insults just drive me away and get me to tell others to not go to cons, it's filled with horrible people.

But no, you need to stampede in and tell me off for having fun because I'm not doing it properly, or I don't have encyclopedia knowledge or I don't care about the actor's names or when a character first showed up.
