I can see arguing against their relationship on the basis that romantic relationships among Cybertronians don't make sense, due to their being a physically asexual species - I disagree that this necessarily leads to them being aromantic, based on every single previous canon except the Marvel comics, and their very human personalities even there, but I can see the argument - but...
To argue against it because they're both, theoretically, masculine-gendered...that's just...odd. Even ignoring that pre-Arcee there was only one gender in this continuity, so 'gay/straight' is kind of a meaningless concept... Well, if it was a meaningful description, why couldn't they be gay?

(Anonymous) 2012-12-21 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)Both sides are missing the point quite thoroughly. And while they are different sides of the spectrum neither seems to be able to divorce the idea of "the person that you'd die for above all else" from the idea of "sexual reproduction".
