Well, I think it makes sense, OP. It's not unusual to wish for closure after going through a story that ends in a bad place and has no resolution. I know I've done the same tons of times. It's for your own mental/emotional well-being, not for fandom.

Seconding this. I'd write that fic if I were you - someone else might need to read it. Closure is a major motivation for seeking fandom; there's no shame in harnessing it to write fic.
