I've known a few Patrice's in my day, and while I would never actually act like Robin I find it funny because she's basically what I wished I could do/was feeling.

It's like Barney. Or pretty much anyone on that show. In real life they'd all be jerks or whatever, but as overblown characters on a television show I find it funny and fun.

A day after the first time I heard this song I went and started writing a really dark hetfic in my fandom-of-the-moment that was heavy on the mutual emotional abuse and humiliation kink. And, yes, she tied him to a kitchen chair and had her way with him. I mean, what else is the song about?

This is one of my favourite lines from the series (and I say this as someone who's seen most of the old series as well as the new). And I'm glad it was able to help you, anon. Like you say, sometimes it doesn't take much to change the way you think about things, and to help you out of a dark place (or at least start to find a way out).

You can be a "movie buff" without liking Pulp Fiction, you know! Due South never aired in my country, but from what I've seen plenty of people remember it -- there's tons of fic to be had, and I think the fandom is still somewhat active.
