It's clearly a reference to Samson and Delilah. That's the whole concept and theme of the song - talking about a dark relationship in terms of Old Testament stories and psalms - Samson and Delilah, David and Bathsheba, David in general. Using that religious imagery to illuminate and talk about and comment on a relationship.

I agree, and specifically using two stories of powerful men who allowed sexual desire to override their better judgment and who ended up paying dearly for it. Samson lost his eyes and eventually his life, and David lost four of his sons as punishment for having the affair and murdering Bathsheba's husband to cover it up.
