Nah, you're not alone. It wasn't a particularly interesting part of the series, imo.

I sort of assumed it...? Like it was revealed as this great secret, but it had been the rule in Romero films since Night of the Living Dead, so I had assumed it was the rule to begin with.

All it really means is that you need to shoot your corpses in the head before burial. idk I don't see it as some huge deal, considering they're already in the zombie apocalypse.

Plus, NO ONE has noticed this until now? rly?

In the Dawn of the Dead remake, you had to be bit to turn into a zombie! |D I didn't know which way the rule would go for this, though, so it kind of surprised me. In hindsight it probably shouldn't have but!

I get what you're saying but at the same time, I can kind of understand how the characters felt. It's like, no matter how hard you fight, you're going to get dragged down one way or another, and any simple little accident will make it happen. Kind of a YOU ARE ALL SCREWED EVEN MORE THAN YOU INITIALLY THOUGHT.

I never saw the remake. I guess it would be a surprise if that were your zombie 101 primer.

I think the secret should have been "zombies come back a year after they're re-killed" or something.

It was my understanding in Night of the Living Dead that those already dead, were reanimated (zombies climbing out of their graves). There was that news bit I think in the 60s version where someone made a hysterical comment about there being no more room in Hell.

I can't remember an instance where it showed people dying without having been bit returning as a zombie, just those that were already dead at the start of the infection. But I guess it would make sense to connect it like that.
