How tall is 5'10 in centimeters? I tried to convert the size and go 155 cm which is pretty average to me, even a bit on the short side (I'm short where I live and roughly 160 cm high). But as always, height is relative!

No, I'm pretty sure 5'6 isn't average height for an American woman (unless the women surveyed are wearing heels or lying). I believe it's 5'4. That's 162.56.

5'2.5, definitely shorter than the vast majority of women, but as a whole, most women are only a few inches taller than me.

I've heard 5'4 - 5'6, depending. *googles* Hm. The Wikipedia article breaks it down by race as well, so that may be part of it. Average height for a US Caucasian woman is listed as 5'5.

I swear to gods I have seen women's petite clothing marketed as being for women who are 5'2 - 5'4 so I really do not even. (Buying clothes as a 4'11 fat woman is SO MUCH FUN let me tell you.)

5'10" is about 178 centimeters. 160 cm is about 5'3", which is... on the short side of average? I think? But yes! 5'10" is quite tall in most places.

Ha, yes, I'm on the short side of average, even where I live. It has its ups (easier access to a large variety of clothes, can weave my way through a crowd) and downs (right under smelly armpits in the bus), but so does being tall, so I don't mind.
