Even if you don't, people who did take her word for it still defended him. That alone is massively fucked up.

Yeah, I will take her word over his. The guy is trying to guilt-trip her over forcing her to give him a blowjob, and goes on and on about his pain over the lost relationship, and how he has needs and couldn't control himself, and blah blah blah. (Never mind that she was a minor here).

I'm not saying that there aren't false rape accusations out there, but I genuinely doubt they outnumber the genuine ones, and I sincerely doubt even more that this is a fake one.

And all things considered (how under-reported rape is, how women are often slut-shamed rather than helped, how men are shamed over their supposed lack of virility if they were the victim, etc.), I would rather give the benefit of the doubt to the victim, until more evidence pops up.

But of course, we actually do have more information in this one case, and it definitely does not paint the abuser under a good light.

Totally agree. In addition to that, the issue here with the bronies, from what I gather, was not even that they were accusing her of lying - it was that they were accusing her of being a slut. Which is like, what? So you accept that a girl was forced to do something sexual against her will, and you call her a slut for it? That is just beyond disgusting.

Wait, what? I must have read that wrong. Can someone explain this to me? I feel like I read this incorrectly. The impression I got from this was that they snuck out to meet each other, ended up having oral sex, and at some point she wanted to stop because she was scared of getting in trouble, and he forced her to keep going.. and his excuse is "BUT SHE USED TO HANG UP ON ME OVER THE PHONE, SO I GOT CONFUSED WHEN SHE ASKED ME TO STOP HAVING SEX WITH HER!".. and people are defending him? Am I reading this correctly? Is there a subtext that I'm missing, here?

Uh, yes? If someone says she was raped, then why would you NOT believe her? By the same logic, why would you just automatically take HIS word for it? Why would you start out by assuming that every single person who says they were raped is lying?
