I don't know if you're joking, but that's one reason why I'm not going to see the movie. Rewatching the trilogy on TV lately reminded me of how I find the hobbits annoying more than interesting. Dwarves reduced to grumpy warriors don't sound very interesting either.
I always thought Tolkien sucked at making his characters likeable anyway. I used to confuse them while reading the first novel.
Aragorn is the only one who stood out in the movie, and that's in part because the actor is convincing as well as hot.

i'm not :[ i enjoyed the lotr movie trilogy, but i never cared for any of the hobbits. i remember liking bilbo when i read the hobbit about a decade ago, but alas, i'm not fond of martin freeman.

Dwarves reduced to grumpy warriors don't sound very interesting either.

if it's of any consolation, none of the dwarves in the movie are grumpy. on the other hand, none of them are particularly memorable either bar thorin, who is aiming for an aragorn/boromir amalgamation vibe. and bofur, because of this one scene where he expressed his well wishes to bilbo that came across as heartfelt and nice, and i always remember heartfelt and nice.
