It's because she is a terrible person, but she's honest about it, and in ways most other people have experienced enough that they see themselves in her. Reading her blog makes people go "oh, good, it's not just me then, but being selfish and impulsive and irresponsible sometimes makes me human, not evil, and that's okay."

Yeah, it wouldn't be funny if an adult did those things, but most of us can relate to being a kid and feeling that something is Serious Business even when the adults don't think so, or being afraid of monsters, etc. Also, the dog stories are hilarious.

I forgot about the doggie IQ test one until I read your comment. I think it's time I read them all again because my memory has finally dulled enough that I can be surprised by some of them again :)

Every time i read the 'we moved and here's what the dogs did' story, i laugh so hard i cry. The dog in little booties! 'Where are my feet?'
