The day after it happened, I imagined that Deadpool burst into the school, killed the shooter and made it look like the suicide, helped the survivors, and then became the "man in camouflage" that the news claimed the police took in for questioning. Because I like to believe that even someone as psycho as Deadpool would storm in and try to right that wrong because what that awful young man did was just that hideous and appalling. And that's how I dealt with it.

How did one of the local (Midwestern) radio stations deal with it? By marking the one week anniversary with the story of the children going to heaven and meeting Jesus, told a la "The Night Before Christmas." It made me tear up.

We all do/think different (sometimes odd) things to deal with tragedy, and no one can shame you or any of us for it. Sometimes fictionalizing it helps us deal with it because it helps us come to terms with a horrible thing we couldn't prevent. In our heads, we can change the outcome and/or imagine what comes after, and that helps us cope.
