LMAO, because 90% of the people posting in this thread *don't* care about The Hobbit or Tolkien's works? Seriously, you can't argue about Tolkien's descriptions of dwarves and then pretend to act like "Oh, such things are beneath me."

Simply liking something isn't the same as being a geek. A person can like wine without being a connoisseur, and a person can like a book without going through it with a fine-tooth comb and obsessing over pointless minutiae. A person can watch Star Trek without deciding that it's necessary to learn Klingon.
