(Anonymous) 2012-12-22 07:03 am (UTC)(link)No, not necessarily. I don't think that's an invalid interpretation, but that isn't the definite meaning. Cohen himself said that there were many valid interpretations to the song and just about every person who covered it gave it their own spin. If the song is about rape to you, then that's fine but don't shove that on everyone else and expect them to interpret it the same way.
