In some critic's review of the episodes that just aired this week, he said that he's now confident that Robin's treatment of Patrice is another aspect of the unreliable narration of the show and what we see is only a reflection of Robin's perception of how she acts with Patrice and that she's actually not nearly as mean to Patrice as she thinks she is.

I'm choosing to buy into this.

I think that's true, as well, because if Robin actually treated Patrice that way, then I doubt Patrice would like her so much.

It's kind of like how Ted saw one of Robin's boyfriends as a Really Really Old Guy, despite the fact that he wasn't actually old, so what we saw on the show was a Really Really Old Guy.

I keep forgetting that Ted is remembering this and it's not happening in "real time".

I like this theory and I am going to cling to it, as I continue to cling to the hope that one day we will have a decent Robin story again (I liked the pay-off in the last ep but it still would be nice to have a plot that doesn't have to be saved by its ending).
