Every time I think I've seen it all a new breed of SJW pops up and shames the previous. I'm talking about this one:

she actually cracks me up. Anyone else got tumblr horror stories? I know there was that 'black Mozart' one earlier.

I saw a post of Will Smith and a dog in a bathtub once from that zombie movie and people were cooing over "oh look at poor refugees in haiti" and then one person was like "I haven't even seen this movie and I know that's Will Smith."

Also people who don't understand satire. I know there's this really satirical website that pretends it's the furthest right you can get and I've seen people not get the joke several times.

Awhile back people were passing around the fake Romney quote about how he thought tampons should be banned. It was from a satirical news website that clearly stated it was a satirical news website, but so many people were so up in arms and full of rage over it. It would have been hilarious if it wasn't so sad. Especially since there's plenty of legitimate crap to criticize Romney for without ranting about crap that's made up.

I've seen a lot of that. It's the whole SJW culture on tumblr looking desperately for stuff to get angry about. The latest is that dumb birthday card that's nearly 15 years old but is still getting comments like "THIS IS WHY STILL WE NEED FEMINISM!!!"

There was actually a really interesting post about that from the woman who posted the original picture, where she discussed the misinformation that some of the media outlets & the Internet were passing around about it. But yeah, I'm of the opinion that there needs to be a Snopes for Tumblr, although part of me doubts that a lot of people would use it, since they can't even be bothered to google shit before reblogging.

i'm familiar with the thesis but i kind of suspect that it's not true or to be more precise i think that the precise ways in which we're stupid now are a development of the internet, not that we're more stupid, but that there's a distinctly modern stupidity which has set in and which the internet is part and parcel of, that our stupidity is different in kind from the stupidity that used to exist

That reminds me of the Bill Nye quote from some Onion-like site that everyone under the age of about 25 reblogged. It had over 2 million notes the last time I saw it and people flipped their shit any time someone told them it wasn't real even though the picture linked to the satire website that had a big banner on it saying that it was a satire site.

ngl, I love it when hordes of people miss the blatantly obvious (and on tumblr, it happens all the time.) I'm really tempted to blog some clearly satirical stuff with relevant source links, caption it 'IMPORTANT: SIGNAL BOOST PLEASE', and watch how many Not Getting It notes it gets.

You get that from the other end, too- I don't know how many people I've seen on Tumblr holding up parody blogs (that I know for a fact were created by 'anti-SJ' people) as examples of why 'SJWs' are so terrible.

i'm pretty sure she's a troll. some of it is convincing but most of it is too ridiculous to be real.

Speaking of SJWs have you ever noticed that some of them seem to play the, 'waiting for a white celebrity to say something mildly stupid then advocate that people hate them forever', game. I notice that on Tumblr and ONTD, and especially with white male celebrities.

Kind of like that secret way back that harped on Mr.Hiddels for his inspirational quotes, it seems like they are slowly turning on him but they have to nitpick to get there, and frankly it's kinda scary.

(As a black fan of several white celebs, this baffles me, and mkaes me want to high velocity facepalm.)
