According to Rotten Tomatoes:

XMFC has a higher overall critic rating than The Hobbit, Rise of the Guardians, Men in Black III, and The Amazing Spiderman. It has the exact same rating as The Dark Knight Rises.

So...anyone who shames you for liking this movie can suck it, frankly. It was a good movie--not perfect, but definitely enjoyable and worth the money. :)

It has the exact same rating as The Dark Knight Rises.

That actually makes me sad cause TDKR is fucking terrible :(

OP

The pacing makes or breaks a movie for me. That is why Inception and The Road to El Dorado are also really high on my list, and TDKR is not.

XMFC wins out because there is ALWAYS something happening. Every moment is either character development or lends to the progression of the story. TDKR had about an hour of pure fluff.

People rate The Dark Knight Rises higher than The Hobbit? o_O

The Hobbit doesn't have very good critical reviews. The painfully slow pace and the really bad CGI combined with the eye-watering sped up frame rate scenes on the so-called standard frame rate version don't really make for a good movie for most people. As successful as it is, many people don't actually like the movie.
