S'all good, OP :) The modern show feels very different to some of the older stuff, although there's a healthy dose of darkness in Seven's era once he gets past the clowning (Ace's seasons > Mel's season). Everyone is going to have different stuff that pings them, and if the modern stuff pings you more, more power to you!

(As a side note, I also disliked TOS. The first series I saw was TNG, then Voyager, so when Sci Fi started showing TOS, I just... could not get into it. Way too cheesy, way too... much of a product of its time, I guess. And Kirk was obnoxious. But they've just finished their TOS run and have started on Enterprise, which is like the ultimate in mixed reviews, so we'll see how that goes!)

Ah - curious - they skipped DS9?

Sci Fi doesn't stick to any real order, as far as I can tell - they went from Voyager to Enterprise to TNG (when I started watching) to Voyager again to TOS and now Enterprise again... I'm hoping they do DS9 after Enterprise, because I really want to see it!

Oh, then I hope they do too, because imo it's the best of all.

(It's on Netflix, if you have access to that.)

Not in Australia, unfortunately. Guess I'll just be patient!

I don't know about in Australia, but in the US I have never ever seen SciFi/SyFy Channel run DS9. (However I have only had cable since 2007.) I think it's because it's so arc-based, and harder to jump into/watch or air out of order. It is the best Trek though!

Ah, that makes sense.

(And I am, as they say, in thunderous agreement about it being the best. I've watched it through a dozen times on Netflix alone, and it still blows me away.)
