Oh man, OP, I know that formula and I hate it, but when I tried to think of movies that fit it, my mind blanked and the only one that comes to mind is actually about a man.

And now I can't remember the name of the movie, but the guy is a successful businessman who's a sad lonely jerk, and on Christmas Eve he gets taken into an alternate reality where he married his high school or college sweetheart and has a family and is so much happier and nicer and the biggest "drawback" is that he's only upper middle class instead of mega rich.
