Re: How to seek help for ADHD/BPD?

(Anonymous) 2012-12-24 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
I basically have to treat ADHD myself, without medication. I'm too terrified to take any, after my brother took Ritalin and suffered a severe reaction to the medication that resulted in a far more damaging and permanent disability.

It's... doable. Sometimes it makes me wish I COULD take medication and I suffer from depression, but it's doable.

Sorry, wasn't much help, I guess.

Ritalin is ugly if you don't truly have ADHD. I remember there were stories of lots of ADHD misdiagnoses and as a result Ritalin would just fuck up kids instead. I took it and was fine; also, maybe other drugs (adderall?) wouldn't cause such a reaction? I've never taken it, only Ritalin so I don't know.

If you're an adult, try Adderall. It's ridic hard to get because so many people abuse it and sell it illegally, but it really helped my ADD when I was able to get it.
