I am a 44G (US sizing) and not wearing a bra results in my nipples being uncomfortably close to my waistline, so I tend to wear one unless I am not leaving the house all day and no one will see me except the spouse. I struggled for years finding bras that were comfortable, partly because my mother refused to get me a bra until I was a C-cup and she kept buying me B's for some bizarre reason, so for my first ten years of bra-wearing I was used to wearing a size too small. By the time I finally worked that out, I was well out of the department-store sizes, and it's hard to buy bras by mail-order since you can't try them on. I finally found a brand/style I like and that fits consistently - no underwire (they always have the wrong curve for my chest shape), mostly cotton, double-layered in the front but no padding. They're not perfect - they have a mid-cup seam, which is annoying, but they're the best I've found and they periodically make new colors.

I have several white ones because when you get a multi-pack one of them is always white, but I prefer jewel-tones and dark colors - if a strap shows accidentally, it seems less embarrassing if it isn't obviously underwear by the color. I have threatened several times to buy an all-white multi-pack of the cotton ones and then tie-dye them, but I haven't actually done it yet.
