PC Stitch! :D I've used it for years, to do anything from re-create art to create cutesy things to words! It has all the true type fonts in it and some built in borders, and it's very easy to use in general. I'd recommend it for an all-around software.

You can download and fiddle with it for free with all it's features except save, so give it a try if you want. The full version costs something like $50 bucks, but I bought it years ago and it has never failed me yet. :)

(Depends on how big of a cross stitcher you are, I suppose--I do one a month or so).

Ooh I'll certainly give that a test drive. I'd heard good things about it before, but no one mentioned the trial.

You're welcome. :) Also, if you do decide to buy it, I'd make sure you get the backup disc (I don't know if this is optional or not.) Nothing made me madder than when my comp crashed and I lost my software. :|
