I'm poor, so I made all my gifts this year from stuff I already had. In past years I've spent max of $20 per person, maybe more for my mom.

I think what you spend on a present is really dependent on your budget. If I could afford to I'd spoil the heck out of my family and friends and get them amazing gifts. I'd love to look at the gift rather than the price, but that's just not the world I live in right now.
